Poirot is on holiday in Herzoslovakia but he still manages to come to the aid of young Harold Waring whose unease with two bird-like women guests in making him very uncomfortable. But Harold is not the only guests disturbed by the women, when a woman and her married daughter are also pulled into the mystery.
Published in 1939 in the USA in This Week under the title Vulture Women and in the UK in 1940 in Strand Magazine under the title Birds of Ill-Omen. It was included in the collection The Labours of Hercules in 1947, which was adapted for TV in 2013, as part of the final series of Agatha Christie's Poirot.
