A Pocket Full of Rye : Sing a song of sixpence...
Tune in to ITV on Sunday 6th September at 8.00pm to watch the premiere of Julia McKenzie as Miss Marple.
When wealthy Rex Fortescue is found poisoned, the only clue to his murder, is a pocketful of rye. The local police are perplexed – and it seems everyone had a reason to see him dead. When another murder takes place, fears are heightened – who will be next?
Julia McKenzie debuts as our favourite spinster next weekend and fans are in for a treat. The films were shown earlier this year in the States, Canada, and Ireland, winning Julia an army of fans.
You may remember Julia from the popular comedy series Fresh Fields and more recently she has appeared in Cranford on the BBC. We’re delighted to welcome her as the new Miss Marple and are sure she will prove as popular with the British public as she did on set. To get a sneak peek behind the scenes of filming be sure to read Executive Producer Phil Clymer’s blog.
Fans of Christie’s books have commented that A Pocket Full of Rye is a faithful adaptation – with some arguing it more closely resembles the novel than the BBC Joan Hickson version. We love to hear your thoughts – so be sure to share your views in the forum.
