Ella Purnell

In Ordeal by Innocence Ella Purnell plays Hester Argyll, the doted upon baby of the Argyll family, a perfect Fifties Miss. Hester is the epitome of innocence but chafes against it.

Ella made her acting debut in 2008 in a West End stage production of Oliver! where she spent a year in the cast. Since then she has appeared in Disney’s Maleficent as the Young Maleficent, as well as featuring in acclaimed comedy Kick Ass 2. Ella also starred in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, directed by Tim Burton and based on the novel by Random Riggs. In 2017 Ella starred in Access All Areas, The Journey is the Destination and Churchill.
